Mabrook Chocolate
Brand strategy, brand refresh and packaging design for Mabrook Chocolate, a boutique chocolate shop based in Thurles. The project focused on creating premium, gift ready packaging that reflects the quality of the product and positions Mabrook Chocolate as a go to gifting choice for luxury artisan hand made chocolate. Since launching, the new packaging and brand refresh have boosted gift box sales and received consistent positive feedback from customers for its design and presentation.
Project Description

Mabrook Chocolate is led by master chocolatier Emil, whose chocolates are handcrafted using only the finest ingredients and unique flavour combinations. While the product itself is high end, the old packaging did not reflect this. Generic white boxes with a logo sticker felt understated and did not communicate the luxury, creativity, or gift worthy nature of the chocolates.

Emil reached out for guidance on refining the brand and creating packaging that would better reflect the quality and personality of his chocolates. The project included both a brand refresh and a full packaging redesign.

Strategy & Design​

We started with brand strategy, analysing competitors and the target market to ensure Mabrook Chocolate could stand out in the artisan chocolate space. The aim was to create packaging that was colourful yet elegant, distinctive, and aligned with the premium nature of the chocolates.
​
As part of the brand refresh, the logo was simplified and refined, keeping it clean, recognisable, and adaptable across all packaging and marketing materials. This gave the brand a polished, premium foundation that complemented the new packaging design.

We created an artistic box design featuring hand drawn cocoa beans in vibrant shades of red, yellow, orange, and light brown scattered across a rich brown background. Subtle chocolate swirl details add depth and movement, while a gold accent on the front enhances the premium look.
The new boxes feel premium, gift ready, fully matching the luxury and quality of the chocolates inside.

To bring the new brand to life, we collaborated with McGowans Print to produce custom chocolate boxes to the highest standard.

Since launching, the brand refresh and new packaging have led to an increase in sales and received regular positive feedback from customers on the presentation and design. The updated packaging now fully communicates the luxury, quality, and creativity of Mabrook Chocolate and has positioned the brand as a go to gifting option for luxury artisan hand made chocolate, supporting plans for online sales and future expansion.
